The initial groove of The Mississippi Flood Song is based on a blues rhythm used most notably by John Lee Hooker in "Boogie Chillen', Slim Harpo in "Shake Your Hips" and the blessed ZZ Top in "La Grange".

It was a privilege building this hallowed song, hitting the mark and adding a new colour tone to the sacred blues pallet.

Simple, vivid lyrics wedded with a damn expressive early electric blues rhythm. Unbeatable. Committed to record in Greenwood, Renfrew County, Ontario.
